Travel Information
General Information
Grades 3-8 register and play in two separate seasons: Fall and Spring soccer. All teams travel to some extent, with up to five "away" games per season. If games are canceled due to weather or field issues, make-up games will be scheduled and should be played. Check out our Uniforms page for more information about WYS required soccer uniforms.
Fall 2025
Games for Grade 3 and above are on Saturdays for 10 weeks starting Saturday, September 6, 2025 and ending Saturday, November 8, 2025. Games WILL BE scheduled on the Columbus Day holiday weekend, but may be rescheduled by the coach.
Spring 2026
Games for Grade 3 and above are on Saturdays for 10 weeks starting in early April and ending in early June. Games WILL BE scheduled on the Memorial Day weekend, but may be rescheduled by the coach.
Grades 3-8: All players in Grades 3-8 participate in the BAYS (Boston Area Youth Soccer) travel program and have a 10-week season. Games are held on Saturdays with one or two weekly practices. Specific practice day/time varies by coach/team but will generally stay constant each week.Â
When league schedules are available, click below to find your team schedule, including field locations, by looking within the Westwood team listing by gender/grade for your team name/head coach name. The BAYS league has 53 towns, but sections are generally organized by geography, although travel can be up to 1 hour potentially but is usually around 20-40 minutes. Plan to arrive at your specified field around 30 minutes prior to your game start time to allow for warm-ups and team check in. Your coach will provide you with more specific information.
BAYS recommended game times vary by grade/gender. Actual scheduled games may vary from the recommended times, but girls games are generally in the morning, and boys games are generally in the afternoons on Saturdays.
