Westwood Youth Soccer strongly recommends coaches complete the following series of courses:

4v4, 7v7, 9v9, or 11v11 coach licensing courses

There is no cost to our coaches to take these courses. WYS reimburses the fee or directly pays for these courses. You must register on your own for courses held outside of Westwood, then submit your course completion certificate to the WYS Treasurer for reimbursement.

9v9 Coach Training Course in Westwood

This fall Westwood Soccer is inviting US Soccer to Westwood to run a US Soccer 9v9 coaching clinic. This is a great opportunity to learn from experienced coaches and get licensed. 

The signup cost is $80, but is fully reimbursed by Westwood Soccer upon course completion, so it ends up being FREE for Westwood Coaches. This is only true, however, if you have completed all of your coach credential requirements.

The 9v9 course is HIGHLY recommended for anyone head or assistant coaching grades in Grades 5 and 6 and may also be useful if you coach Grades 3 or 4.

US Soccer Grassroots 9v9 Coach License Courses:

• Virtual Meeting with Live Instructor:  Friday, September 18, 2026 7:00-9:00pm Virtual link to be provided prior to course start

• In-Person Field Component Date: Sunday, September 20, 2026 8:30-11:00am

• In-Person Field Component Location: Thurston Middle School, 850 High Street Westwood, MA
