• Registration for Fall 2018 Soccer is Open Through June 13

    Incoming Grades 3-8
    The fee for the 10-week Fall 2018 season, which starts September 8, 2018, is $125 per player. Some travel is involved for all teams. Practices are held during the week with games scheduled on Saturdays. All registered children make a team.

    Incoming Grades K-2
    The Mites K-2 program is a FULL year, Fall 2018-Spring 2019, program and does NOT require re-registration in the spring. The fee for the full-year in-town program is $125. Children must be registered for Kindergarten for the fall 2018 to play K soccer.

    Late Fee
    Registrations completed after the 12:00 midnight June 13, 2018 deadline will be considered late and systematically assessed a $25 per player late fee. Late fees cannot be waived. Fee waivers will NOT be granted for late registrations. Late registrants will be placed on a space available basis. Late fees are not assessed in the Kindergarten program.

    Financial Hardship Fee Waivers
    Requests for registration fee waivers due to financial hardship must come during OPEN registration from May 16 – June 13. Fee waivers for late registrations will not be granted. 

    Please consider volunteering! Soccer knowledge a plus, but not a requirement. If you want to submit your name to be considered for a Coach, Assistant Coach, or Parent Manager position please select the appropriate volunteer option and complete the volunteer information when you are registering your child during this online registration process.

  • Sunday Soccer Skill Clinics for Grades 1 and 2
    Join us for additional skill clinics for 1st and 2nd grade players! No extra registration required. 
    Coach participation is strongly encouraged, but optional.

    Sundays: 4/29, 5/6, 5/20, 6/3
    1st/2nd grade GIRLS  12:00 - 1:15pm
    1st/2nd grade BOYS 1:30 -  2:45pm

    Location: Deerfield School Field - 72 Deerfield Ave, Westwood, MA 02090
    *Please do NOT park or drop off on the LIBRARY side, so that we don't cause traffic problems there!

    BRING: Reusable water bottle with your name on it. If you have a size 3 soccer ball, bring it too!
    WEAR: Come dressed to play soccer with cleats, shin guards, and soccer socks. No jewelry.

  • Grade 3/4 Skill Clinics
    Every 3rd and 4th grade player is encouraged to attend ALL seven clinics, but the skill clinics are OPTIONAL. No extra registration is required. These clinics are in addition to your regular weekly team practice. These fun, action-packed clinics will feature a combination of skill training and game play. Players will learn and improve key individual technical skills (passing, dribbling, shooting, defending) under the guidance of professional instructors.

    Coach participation is optional, but welcome. Please come only to your specific grade/gender session to manage session numbers.

    Tuesdays: 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22, 5/29, 6/5
    3rd Grade GIRLS:  5:00-6:15pm
    4th Grade GIRLS  6:30-7:45pm

    Wednesdays: 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16, 5/23, 5/30, 6/6
    3rd Grade BOYS:  5:00-6:15pm
    4th Grade BOYS:  6:30-7:45pm

    Summary of the key points from the WYS Grade 3-8 Coaches Meeting
    • NEW Requirement: ALL coaches (max of 3) on team sidelines must wear their MYSA 2017-2018 Coach Credential lanyards. This includes Under 18 coaches and replaces the small BAYS coach ID cards. 
      • Please check NOW that you have your 2017-2018 lanyard, and if you DON’T, email and request one. You must have completed all your coaching requirements to be able to get a credential.

    • Rosters: for Grades 3-8 teams have been sent to the league. Rosters and team information/medical sheets were also sent out to the listed HEAD coach of each team. If the league rejects a roster or there is some issue, you will be sent a revised roster.
    • Preseason Practice Time and Week 1: Contact Chuck to book preseason practice time. Grass fields are doubtful for Week 1, so prepare for some chaos and be flexible. The BAYS league has already extended the make-up window until May 13!
    • Equipment Needs/Tournament Patches:
    • Referee Issues and Evaluations: Contact Bruce directly if you have Game Day ref issues, phone also if possible. Also remember to fill out your Ref evaluations for each home game for a chance to receive an Amazon gift card!

    The process for checking on Weekday Field Status is to click the appropriate link in our Field Information box on the left navigation. The Westwood Recreation Department makes all of those determinations. You must scroll down on their page to see the individual fields listed and their current status.

    The process for checking on Weekend Field Status is to click the appropriate link in our Field Information box on the left navigation. WYS has a process for making these determinations on game day mornings and the status will be listed usually by 7:30am.

    Soccer Uniforms:  All 3rd grade-8th grade soccer uniforms are sourced through We Got Soccer on Route 1 in Foxboro. However, you can only order online at ( Please allow a couple weeks for orders to be filled prior to the start of the season. You will need to specify the jersey number assigned by WYS to the player when ordering a new jersey. We Got Soccer is offering a 10% discount good on all purchases if you sign up for their rewards program. The coupon code is WESTWOODREWARDS. 

    If the WYS logo on an older jersey has peeled off due to a application defect, please bring the jersey back to WGS for a new logo application at no charge.  The problem was rectified with new uniforms purchased after 2012.
