Practice Time Sign up for U9-U14: As the soccer season is approaching, we would like to make sure you all have assigned practice times as early as possible. Instead of signing up at the coaches meeting for a practice time, please email the WYS fieldscheduler ( fieldscheduler@westwoodsoccer.org ) 2 or 3 options for practice days/times. Please remember to add which team you coach - for example B14.

Lodge Field Closed: Due to field conditions the Lodge field will be closed until further notice. Field will be reevaluated later in the fall but for now assume that the field is closed.

Referees: There will be meetings for all referees (New and Experienced) on Thursday September 2 and Tuesday September 7, at the Thurston Middle School cafeteria

New Referees attend 7:00-8:30 pm.
Experienced Referees attend 7:30-8:30 pm.

Please chose ONE meeting to attend, not both.
New referees should send an e-mail to the Referee Coordinator, Bruce Masi-Phelps to be put onto the active referee list.

Pre-Season Coaches Meeting: Coaches meeting will take place Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010 at the Thurston Auditorium. Details will be finalized shortly.

U9 Uniform Information for Fall 2010: The list of U9 players and their assigned jersey numbers for the players who have registered is at the Soccer Spot in Needham, MA. Your child will retain this assigned number throughout his or her playing career in Westwood Youth Soccer. All U9 players will need a uniform. Please contact or visit the Soccer Spot at 1299 Highland Ave, Needham, MA for uniform sizing by AUGUST 7, 2010 to allow enough time for ordering before the season starts on Saturday, September 11, 2010. If you registered late and you are not on the list, please contact the U9 coordinator, Mark Plecinoga.

Please be sure the jersey you order and have numbered is the correct size. These are custom made and numbered. The Soccer Spot cannot swap for a different size -- they would need to reorder a new uniform at an additional cost.

Samples are at the store as well as information posted on their web site. The uniforms run pretty true to the sizing below. When in doubt order a larger size.

YS= 6-8
YM=10-12
YL=14-16 AS=34-36 (14-14.5 neck)
AM=38-40 (15-15.5 neck)
AL=42-44 (16-16.5 neck)
AXL=46-46 (17-17.5 neck)

Soccer Spot will keep on hand several size runs when and if uniforms are needed.

Players should wear the complete approved uniform, jersey, shorts and socks for games. These are available at the Soccer Spot.

Board Meeting:  The next board meeting scheduled is for Sunday, September 19, 2010, from 7:00-9 P.M.at the Senior Center, 60 Nahatan St., Westwood.
