NSCAA Level 1 Course

posted Aug 30, 2015, 10:56 AM by Karen P   [ updated Sep 1, 2015, 5:05 AM ]

Westwood Youth Soccer is hosting a NSCAA Level 1 Course on Sunday, September 13 at Thurston Middle School from 8:00am - 12:00pm. The course is designed to help youth soccer coaches create the best learning environment for their players. It will focus on developing practice plans, how to improve a players technical skills, and the specific needs of players at this age. Westwood Youth Soccer strongly encourages all coaches who have not yet earned their G license through the USSF to register for this course. Coaches who have already earned one or more licenses through the USSF are also welcome to come and earn their first NSCAA diploma. Courses like these are very beneficial and an educated coaching staff will lead to the long term success of every player in the Westwood Youth Soccer program.

Fee:  $30.00 - Reimbursable by WYS

Note:  Registration is via the Mass Youth Soccer Site.  MYS Registration

We are getting excited that the start of the fall season is right around the corner. Games for all programs begin Saturday September 12, 2015.

Coaches are reminded that all adults on the team sidelines or helping at practices must receive CORI clearance through WYS/Mass Youth Soccer. Team practices cannot be held on Westwood fields until our Field Scheduler provides notice that our field permits are in effect.

If you haven't heard about your team assignment by August 25, please contact the coordinator for your age group listed on the Board of Director's page.

WYS uniforms with assigned numbers are required for Grades 3-8. Ordering is only online so plan accordingly as shipping does take some time.

Colored team t-shirts will be provided to all K-2 players prior to or at the first game.

Have a great season!

Thank You for another successful season of Westwood Youth Soccer. Hard to believe April fields were unplayable due to the record snowfall this past winter but the games got played and we hope the kids had fun.

We had a great spring season with teams playing in the BAYS President's Cup and Mass Tournament of Champions (MTOC)!!

Please take a moment to fill out this short program survey as soon as possible - this is very helpful to WYS in our planning for upcoming seasons.

Please select the appropriate survey(s):
