Concussion Training

Mandatory Annual Soccer Year (Fall-Spring) Concussion Training for ALL Coaches, Assistants, and Parent Managers

Westwood Youth Soccer requires that all coaches complete mandatory concussion training prior to coaching in WYS. This training can be done at home/office on any computer. It will take 20 to 30 minutes to complete. You cannot save your progress so will need to complete the training all in one session.

At the end of the training session, there will be a list of questions you need to answer and when you are done a certificate will pop up. You will type in your name and save and download the PDF file. We recommend before you download or print it, that you take a screen shot or photo of it...just in case. Note: once you log out your information will NOT be saved at the CDC site but will be saved if you register and use the NFHS website.

Once your certificate is saved as a file on your computer you will need to UPLOAD it to us using the applet at the bottom of this page. You cannot upload from an iPad or phone and will need to get the file onto a computer to complete the UPLOAD.

Please choose one of the two concussion training courses linked below:  (Both take approx the same time to complete although one may perform better for you based on your browser)

Click HERE for the link to CDC Concussion Training. It takes a moment to come up and then asks for you to input your name prior to starting.

Click HERE for the link to the National Federation of State High School Associations Concussion in Sports Course. Requires registration sign-up.

Some coaches have reported getting hung-up in the middle of the CDC course. That is not what is happening. When you get to the screen pictured below, you choose either Home or School. Once you choose open, then choose the other. There will be a Continue button on the screen at that point. See bottom image.

Last Step:  Upload certificate to us

It is very important that you include your first and last name when uploading the file!

(Below you should see a widget that will allow you to upload your certificate to us.  If you do not
see the widget then please try another browser i.e., Chrome, Firefox, or IE.  If you are still unable
to upload then please email your certificate to your Age Group Coordinator.)

Please only upload .PDF, .DOCX, .DOC, .JPG, or .PNG files.  If there is more than one "." in the filename it will not upload.
The Upload takes a moment and then a confirmation message appears.
