Coaching Requirements

Thank you for volunteering to help coach your child’s youth soccer team! We could not do it without you.

There are a number of critical coaching requirements to get through to be an adult volunteer. The annual requirements are based on the soccer year: August 1 - July 31.

  1. Current Adult Registration with MYSA
  2. CORI Background Check valid through the Soccer Year
  3. Annual Concussion Training Certification

All adult volunteers must be separately registered with Mass Youth Soccer(MYSA) through their system Affinity Sports. This is required now to access the CORI form.

The CORI process is complicated and does take some time. Please complete all steps as soon as possible! You cannot be on the sidelines until the CORI has come back cleared.

Instructions for MYSA Adult Registration and the CORI process can be found here:

Recognizing and reacting appropriately to concussions is a major issue in youth sports. WYS requires that all volunteers complete a concussion training course ANNUALLY within the Soccer Year August-July. Once you have completed the training, please post your certificate to our website as directed at the bottom of concussion training page:

Once you are registered with MYSA, your CORI is cleared, and your concussion training certificate has been uploaded, you can help out at practice and on the sidelines! It looks worse than it is.

Thanks so much for your persistence and effort to get all of this done.
